It needs a tiny bit of fiddling to reformat on PC before I could plug into my Synology NAS as an external backup device, but otherwise it works flawlessly. It is now connected to my device 24*7 and set to hibernate after 30 minutes of inactivity. So far so good and there is little noise output.
Not sure about the endurance but hopefully it could lasts for 5 years +…

This drive is AMAZING. I’ve had it since 2019 and I’ve been using it mainly as a backup drive so I just plug it in to run backups from all of my other hard drives. The price and storage space are unbeatable, and I haven’t had a single issue with it. So simple to plug in and unplug as needed, and it has great transfer speeds with USB 3.0 support. I was not counting on finding such a cheap, reliable, high quality external drive.

What a nice large drive for backing up.
This for my gamer Grandson’s new computer.
I am not sure how he uses so much storage, but this will help.
WD is a good brand that I trust to work for a long time.
This was easy to set up and it works very well.

Great for periodic backups, I pair this with a raspberry PI so I can keep constant backups of anything important. The idea is eventually when I’m done changing around data, I back everything up, keep it in a fireproof safe along with all of it’s cords, and if anything happens I’ll have all my data still. Wish I bought this a year ago… but it wasn’t on sale then so yeah. Does the job perfectly, and extremely easy to use.

Works very well… just connected it to a USB3 port and Windows 11 saw it right away. Lots of room for large backups of photos and videos.
Only 4 stars though for 2 reasons.
First is the utility software loaded on the hard drive does *not* work with this particular model. So why load useless software?
Second is that it will *not* work through a powered USB3 hub, but it is fine when connected directly to the computer. My old Seagate 6TB USB drive does work with the hub with no issues.
