Very happy with the purchase so far. Easy to install although you need to buy the kit separately in order to install it directly to your fuse box in the vehicle to have constant recording. I only use it while driving so the plug in that it comes with works for me. Good quality recording and it does record license plates that are readable when vehicles are close. Of course the further away the harder it is to make out what the plates are.

Bought the F17 RedTiger 4K dash cam after reviewing Consumer Reports evaluation of 4 different dash cams. Hiding the rear camera is very easy using the provide tool and follow the diagram provide with the dash cam. If you do not want to use the cigarette lighter power the dash cam you will need to by the appropriate hardware kit (Amazon has). Be sure you order one the specifically includes F17. Follow the instructions with that come with the hardware kit. It is also VERY important to a CAR voltmeter that can test your fuses. This was problem for me as a novice but also very educational. I would recommend you get a drawing of your fuse box and which fuses power which devices. For my F150 Ford Pickup I do not have the ACC slot but a ACM listing and the F150 fuse box list is very difficult to figure out which fuse to connect the battery wire to. I emailed “help@redtigercam.com” for help/assistance in locating the proper fuses to use. Unfortunately I continued to have problems getting the appropriate battery wire connection. The help desk has been AWESOME – THE BEST CUSTOMER I HAVE EVER HAD buying a product on line. I would get answers to my emails within 24 hours offering suggestions as well as a refund when I had to purchase a MACRO3 fuse connector. As of this review the help desk suggested a non-conventional temporary solution which worked. As of this review I am awaiting a different hardware kit from RedTiger which hopefully will be the final permanent solution. UPDATE: 10 Oct 24: Just received the Red Tiger OBD Kit. that Red Tiger sent me. I just installed it after receiving it yesterday. The sensor immediately showed 11.9 volts. Very easy to install and route the cable. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using the Red Tiger OBD hardware kit over the fuse box hardware kit (Obtainable on Amazon). You’ll save yourself so much installation time. Everything works great now.

This camera is very easy to install and use. The video quality is excellent. I added the hardwire harness, which is a separate purchase, to be able to use the parking security mode. This is a great feature that activates if your car is hit or broken into.
I give it 4 stars because the camera stopped working after I tried to replace the supplied 64gb card with a 256gb. The camera would turn on, and all the menu buttons functioned, but when formatting the SD card, it kept saying the card could not be formatted. Without formatting or recognizing the card the camera while not record. I contacted customer support, and they sent me a Redtiger 256GB card to replace the 64gb. That did not work. I contacted them and they shipped me an entire new system. I received it today, and the replacement camera now recognizes the 256gb card, and is working fine. I only needed the main camera, because the original wiring is already installed through my cars body trim, with the rear camera mounted. They advised just to put the bad camera in the new box with all the new wiring and send it back that way; no need to return original wiring.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality and ease of function of the R17. (It’s rare to have problems with electronics, but it does happen. I just drew a bad one this time.) As far as support, it was excellent. Each step, the SD card replacement, and then the camera replacement, were very quick. Two-day shipping for each event.
This camera is one of the top rated for its price and I highly recommend this system for those who want the security of a 360° video eyewitness. When it comes down to, he said she said, the camera never lies.

Took me several months to get the time to install this camera but after getting it installed we took a trip and it work out good. Nice camera and it really wasn’t hard to install.

I’m happy with the quality of the front camera image. The rear and interior cameras are standard, but they have a good recording angle and the images are clear too.
The only downside is the rattling noise that comes from the front camera buttons. I have a diesel car, and when driving slowly in a high gear, I can hear the noise coming from there.

Dash cams are becoming almost essential vehicle add-ons, as insurance rates go up, drivers seem to be less responsible, and the ability to establish one’s account of any traffic accident can spell the difference in hundreds or thousands of dollars in liability cost. Fortunately, dash cams are coming down in price and going up in quality, IF you search for the best at your price point.
After going through two other brands that were very disappointing, I bought the REDTIGER cam and have been very pleased with its performance. On high resolution, playback on my Android phone (download your recorded drives to your mobile device) is superb, with crisp detail even in low light conditions. The dual front/back cameras offer you nearly 360 degrees of coverage should anything impact you. BTW when your REDTIGER cam senses a jolt, it automatically saves that file so you are assured it will be available to you for any insurance or law enforcement purposes.
Good value for the money, easy to install, a very comprehensive menu of features that are intelligently displayed and logically chosen right in the cam’s display. This one is a keeper.

I recently upgraded to the REDTIGER 4K 3-Channel Dash Cam (F17N), and I’m seriously impressed! This dash cam offers high-quality video recording, smart features, and great value for the price.
Pros:
✔ True 4K Ultra HD Quality – The front camera records in 2160P, and with the 1080P rear and inside cameras, all angles are crystal clear. Perfect for Uber, Lyft, or daily commutes.
✔ 5.8GHz WiFi & GPS – Super-fast WiFi makes it easy to download footage to my phone. The built-in GPS tracks my routes accurately.
✔ Infrared Night Vision – The IR night vision captures clear details, even in low-light conditions. Great for nighttime driving!
✔ Loop Recording & Parking Mode – Automatically records over old footage and has motion detection for added security while parked.
✔ Comes with a 64GB Card – No need to buy extra storage right away!
Cons:
🔹 Installation Takes Time – Running the cables neatly requires effort, but it’s worth it for a clean setup.
🔹 App Connection Could Be Faster – WiFi transfers are decent, but a wired option for large file transfers would be nice.
Final Verdict:
If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality dash cam with full coverage, this is an excellent choice. The 4K resolution, night vision, and triple-channel recording make it a fantastic investment for security and peace of mind. Highly recommend! 🚗📷✨

Good quality dash cam

I wired up the dash cam with the rear view camera as well and this thing is really nice. Takes some getting used to, but the camera records in small chunks, which is nice to have smaller files, unless you really want to record a 4 hour drive in one take.
The wifi feature is great and it’s nice to store the files in the album and it even gives you nice gps info and a map.
Audio and sound quality are pretty good. I added a 128GB card for use instead of the supplied 64GB.
All-in-all, I’d buy it again and I might even buy one for my other vehicle.

After doing a lot of research, I ended up with the RedTiger dash cam. I’m a car guy so having the right dash cam is very important. I was willing to spend nearly $400 for the Vantrue camera, but at the same time I saw no benefits. The Redtiger video quality are amazing. It is easy to set up and use. The packaging is very professional and gave you well made wire management clips. I recommended the camera to my dad and he too has one in his 2022 Honda odyssey. I will buy more Redtiger cameras for all my cars as well.
