I wanted a Windows 11 capable desktop at a reasonable price. For surfing and email this configuration fit the bill.
I was upgrading to a single new 2K monitor at the same time, purchased separately from Amazon. The Dell monitor I purchased has both display port and HDMI ports. The HP ProDesk 600 G4 i5 desktop that I received has 2 display ports and 1 VGA.
I ordered one Benfei display port to display port cord on Amazon to prepare myself. That is what I utilized for audio and video connection to the lone monitor with stunning positive result.
I cannot vouch for the adapters display port to HDMI, I didn’t try one of those.
This is the third refurbished HP desktop I have purchased through Amazon Renewed. Of the two Win 10 machines I have, one has been running 5 years and one has been running for 7 months. All three are from different companies.
The set up of the new desktop was straightforward. The apps synched with no issues. The various updates took over a half hour, with the update to 24H2 taking about 20 minutes. From the outset of the installation I used an RJ45 ethernet cord for internet.
It came with a WiFi USB. For headphones, I used my own Bluetooth USB device that I had on hand.
I did not open the case. I checked on System and the fulfillment looked to be accurate.
So ten days after setting this machine up, all is well.

Definitely the way to go, 3rd renewed I’ve bought, all still working in my home offce, living room PC, and my studio-pocast PC, I love ’em, of course you get your money’s worth.

This is very nice compact package but I had major problems with installing Windows. I used a Microsoft iso to load Windows on the computer with no problems (had to use an external CD drive because there is no CD drive). However when I tried to boot the machine, it displayed a message that there was no OS on the hard drive. I tried removing the drive and installing on another computer and it worked fine, booting to Windows. I tried the HP website but as expected that was no help. I called Amazon Tech Support and spoke with a representative who could not offer any help but to suggest returning the computer for a refund and that is what I did. No, I definitely do not want a replacement. I spent hours trying to get this to work – installed Windows on the drive using another computer with the same results. Installed a drive from another working computer with the same results.

I purchased this computer to replace a perfectly functioning one that will not upgrade to windows 11… (but that is another story). It came quickly and was well packaged. It looks brand new. I opened the cover, and the interior was very clean with what looks like a new hard drive installed. The start up and installation went without any problems. The mouse and keyboard were interesting, and the grand kids will get a bang out of all the lights. A couple of things to remember (1) This is not a gaming computer, so don’t expect it to perform like one. (2) The wireless connection is a USB Dongle, which may or may not work, but since I’m hard wired, I didn’t need that. (3) As with most newer computers, it lacks a VGA output for the monitor, and it does not have a HDMI output, so you will need adaptors if you are going to use either of these. Overall, it is an excellent computer, for the money spent.

The computer packaging was very secure. Setup went smoothly, WiFi is by a USB 2.0, single band 2.4GHz dongle inserted into a port in the rear of the computer. Win Pro 11 installed is an older version that had to be updated to the current version 24H2. The cabinet of the computer shows some wear, expected from a refurb, with generally fine appearance. The display ports need an adapter to HDMI for monitors. I had purchased two adapters prior to the delivery of the computer for $5 and they work well. From delivery to being ready to use, with lots of updating using WiFi dongle, and doing a full virus scan took a total five hours. With an Ethernet cable the process would had been much shorter. Bluetooth speakers were paired with the computer and work good. Everything works well that I had tried. The computer is well built and is a heavy weight, high performance computer. The speed at which it works is astonishing compared to the computer being replaced. Thus far, my impression is, this computer is exceptional! A very good buy!! TekRefurbs customer service is top notch also.

Items came as promised and set-up was easy for me. The computer is lighting fast and about 20% smaller in size to my previous desk top.

You have to go to hp website to get the drivers that work. Otherwise it is fast and works.
