got this for my son to upgrade in his honda accord. got an open box that appears to have been never used. works as i hoped . seems high quality . the included camera on the other hand?? MEH. it’s low res. nothing special but it’s part of the package. sound is quite good , touch screen is responsive and bright. it felt super light so i was concerned it would be crappy sounding but not so. well well worth the little it costs.

The first refurbished unit was missing the mic mount and the head unit lasted 30 minutes before it powered off and failed to turn back on. I verified the connections and fuses and everything was fine. I returned it back to Amazon and got a second refurbished unit. This time all parts are in the box and so far the unit has been working great. Car play auto works great. It does not support wireless car play. The UI is pretty basic. Nothing fancy or anything. Biggest gripe I have the unit is it’s not really bright even if it’s set to max. You can still see what’s on the screen but for me it’s not bright enough compared to my last unit. The second one is the volume control. I prefer a knob but that’s like a extra $100 feature. The volume rocker is tiny and is on the very edge of my unit. The mounting bracket for my unit sticks out a wee bit where I can only press the rockers sort of at a angle. All and all, for less than $150(refurb) it’s a good unit over stock.

The volume continues to go up and down on its own. The led lights on the side buttons work only sometimes. Toggling back and forth from Cap Play to tuner is not very convenient. Waze always thinks Im in Mexico unless I set my course from my phone. Of course all of this is happening 5 weeks after purchase and I cant return the head unit. What a waste of money.

I decided to upgrade from the old stock radio and this one does fulfill the hands free phone requirement I was after however the Android Auto messaging system doesn’t seem to work at all, even though I have version 14 and uninstalled/reinstalled the app. Unfortunately, it’s not coming back out.

Let me start off by saying this head unit was not used in a fancy high-end sound system. I am only utilizing the front two channels with 5 1/4” speakers. Used in a custom built center console in a classic car.
Man, “bang for the buck” is phenomenal. The main option that attracted me was the Apple Car Play… so far works great. My only complaint is with the optional license plate revers camera. There are wires that are optional to CUT. One removes the pre-drawn distance line in the camera video, the other flips the image 180 degrees upside down (in case you need to mount the camera upside down for your application. My wires were mis-labeled, so I cut the wire for the wrong option. I had to solder it back together. The only other minor nuisance is when the car is placed in reverse, it automatically mutes the music playing… but for some reason also seems to disconnect the Bluetooth device (if being used for music). I will play with the settings and see if it is something I am doing wrong. But bang for the buck; I am thoroughly impressed

Fonctionne pas tout les 12 v branché mais quand je met le connector dans la radio mon 12 v descant a 3 v, problème interne
Finalement le problème était que j’avais un mauvaise mise la masse, donc je me suis fait un nouveaux fil et la radio a fonctionné .
Je vous conseille de vous ajouter un bouton pour alimenter le fil orange qui met le radio en mode nuit lorsque que vous allume vos phare avant et l’écran devient sombre, avec le bouton vous contrôler la luminosité jour/nuit .
Fonctionne à merveille,aucun problème, téléphone fonctionne très bien , avec mon iPhone aucun problème

added this to my 22-year-old Mazda truck so i could have amazon auto. Came with a backup camera which was a pain to install but now that it’s done, I love it!! Installation of the unit was easy, but I had to fabricate brackets to hold it into the dash. Company was great with input on how to get the backup camera working properly. I totally recommend this as an inexpensive upgrade.

Bought this on March 4th 2022 since it seemed to pack a good deal of features and wattage for my speakers and sub.
I replaced my factory JBL head unit that came with my 2006 Corolla commuter car. It was a nice upgraded factory system but it was outdated and I needed hands free, maps, and features you get in new head units.
Was happy with it at 1st but then it had a problem with the Apple CarPlay USB connection. Wasted a bunch of time troubleshooting with BOSS to tell me my head unit was defective which I clearly knew.
Luckily it was in warranty. I opted for the advanced replacement so I could get my problem fixed asap. Got the replacement unit, installed it and tested. Everything worked well until last month.
Constant CarPlay disconnects. Tried different USB A to USB C cables and still same result. I know it’s not my phone (iPhone 15 Pro Max w/iOS 18.x) because I have a Kenwood head unit in my 2007 Z51 Corvette and it works flawlessly with the same cable and phone. It’s going on 6 years old now BTW.
Now my BOSS is out of warranty and I have a head unit that doesn’t work for the reason I bought it for. I should have just bought another Kenwood since now I’m out more money for trying to cheap out for my commuter car.
I haven’t had other issues with volume and screen related stuff others have described but I can attest to the Mic echo when connected via CarPlay. Many people complained about the echo when having conversations.
Do yourself a favor…Pay more and cry once.
I won’t be purchasing BOSS products ever again.

Does not fit as advertised

After owning this about a year I would say this is good value. Nothing about it is great – the touch screen is just ok, it can be a little hard to see in bright light, the back up camera is better than the cheap looking camera suggests and the sound quality was good enough.
It was easy enough to install, I still think it was good value for a basic head unit with CarPlay, back cam etc. and would buy it again
