This Stereo/CD player is a great unit. The display lights are bright, the sound is crystal clear even with my 24 year old speakers in the truck. The Blue tooth feature is awesome now I can answer the phone with just a push of a button. The USB is and added feature, it charges my phone and you could play your own music from a downloaded USB. The wiring hook up was very simple to install, with plug in sockets and color coded wires letting you know which ones are for the speakers. Will be buying a second unit for my camper.

Easy to install and works great and good deal

Prodotto eccellente.

One day my 05 Elantra’s radio wouldn’t even power up. After making sure it wasn’t a fuse and there was power at the connector, I concluded the radio was dead.Didn’t want to invest too much and didn’t want to have to deal with a security code on a used factory unit. This unit was about what a used factory CD unit costs but with blue tooth, USB and aux in. Used my factory mounting brackets since the plastic dash opening was too big for the provided sleeve. Just had to use an existing set of holes on the unit and dig thru my extra hardware pail and finding short screws to fit. Get one of those harness adapters to make your life easier. Sounds great, paired my phone quickly. Registered my unit on the BOSS site and somebody even emailed me back confirming!

Bought and received in less than three days.
I installed this in my 2002 Dodge Dakota SLT. The truck’s aftermarket radio died so I reused the frame and harness adapter. Install is pretty straight forward. Match wire color to wire color for the radio harness to the aftermarket radio harness adapter. The sound in good (and may be better than it was before with the old JVC). The bluetooth works well and the quality is good. Haven’t had issues with the bluetooth like other reviews.
After wiring to the harness I noticed that the radio didn’t turn off when the ignition was off. I double checked that I had the “constant” power (yellow wire, provides constant power so setting aren’t lost) and the “ignition” power (red wire, provides power when the ignition is on) were correct, they were. I was pretty frustrated because the radio should turn completely off when the ignition was off. Spent probably too much time playing around with it and searching the internet to figure out what was wrong.
So I finally gave up and decided it would never completely turn off. With the radio in the power off position (radio clock is still on dimly) I removed the fuse for the radio and checked the power draw from the fuse socket with a voltmeter. I couldn’t readily discern a power draw and decided that it wouldn’t kill my battery (probably couldn’t get a reading because my voltmeter is really crappy). Besides, if I went camping or something and didn’t want the chance of it killing my battery I could just remove the fuse to kill it completely.
Fast forward about a week, and the radio has decided to turn off when the ignition is off. Really weird because I didn’t do anything to fix it. Maybe a relay was acting up? No idea but it functions correctly now.
One more thing. Really bright screen and buttons. Very nice during the day but if you’re driving a dark moonless night it gets really annoying. Like really annoying (hence the 4 stars). Anyone know how to wire the “dimmer” power (orange wire) into a radio that isn’t equipped to receive it?
Anyway, good radio for the price. Would recommend it .
*UPDATE* The issue with the radio being on continually has returned…

The radio is as advertised. Replaced the wall unit in our camper with it. The best part is the “two zone” feature to turn off the outside zone. East to use (once you read the manual). Straight forward install. Now to replace the speakers as it is much more powerful than the original radio and we can hear the lack of quality in the original speakers.

I purchased this to replace another FM Radio/ CD player that quit playing my CDs. I love my CDs and so I saw this model and WOW, am I glad I bought it !!!! Plays my CDs perfectly and has GREAT AUDIO !!! The FM radio sounds awesome too !!!!! I had taken a wooden wine box that bottles of wine were shipped in and redesigned it to house my new BOSS AUDIO SYSTEM. The speakers are located on each end of the wooden box, to give a stereo sound. The main unit fits in a rectangle opening I cut into the front of the wine crate which is from Italy !!!! Looks and SOUNDS GREAT !!!!!! The wooden box creates a unique sound sort of like an acoustic guitar would sound.

So I think this device broke due to the mild bay area heat wave.
I live in California, near San Francisco, this device started touching itself or acting as though someone was pushing the buttons a few days ago. Coincidentally we had a heat wave, where temps reached around 105 degrees in my area, thats still pretty cool compared to the rest of the country since we’re close to the ocean and doesn’t come close to most peoples general summer temperatures.
I assume something must have melted inside the device because thats the only thing I can think of for why it is acting as though someone is touching the device.
I’ve reached out to Boss support, I guess we’ll see if they care that their device broke.
Also apologies for the video, I had just gotten home from grabbing food and as you can tell the issue is kind of intermittent, so I took the video while I had the chance.
Edit:
So after contacting the seller on amazon, they told me to reach out to BOSS directly as they handle the warranties. So I reached out to them, they wanted me to destroy my old unit and take pictures as proof of doing so. I asked if they’d be willing to send me out just the faceplate as I thought that was what the issue was, new face plate has seemed to fix the unit. It’s been about a month since I replaced the unit, hopefully it doesn’t act up again. but I guess we’ll see if next year if it’ll survive the summer heat again.
