Did not accomplish what I wanted

EDIT: While the sensors are still nonfunctional, the seller reached out to make it right. Because of the good customer service, I’m moving from 1 star to 3 stars.
    _____________

I bought these to replace some sensors that were part of an old security system. The reviews were promising, and the ability to add more sensors later made these the best choice for the money at the time.

They went up easily and worked well for a couple of months. However, one of them started randomly double-chiming, then there were a couple that would only work every now and then, and finally right at the 3 month mark, they all stopped working completely. I would not recommend these sensors.

Choosing a door/window sensor was aggravating to me. All the products seemed like either cheap junk or was a part of a larger system I had no need for. All I wanted was a product that makes a sound at a distant location whenever the door was opened. The reviews on this were mixed. The reality is that they do the job just fine. I like them. Can’t beat the price

BIGGEST DRAWBACK: sensors require a special battery I can almost guarantee that you don’t have. The batteries that COME WITH the sensors may not last long, but once they do and you buy a quality replacement, like duracell or energizer, they will last just fine. Maybe I’ll be changing the batteries once a year. Nonetheless the fact that they take an odd size battery is inconvenient, but inconvenient in 2023 is generally not that inconvenient.
Second biggest drawback: There is a minor design flaw. You shift the cover across the base to expose the battery. If you install it upside down (that is to say you would shift the cover down to remove from the base) you can have an issue where it falls off the door when its slammed or if you have a very heavy use door AND the installation configuration necessitates installing the sensor portion holding the battery on the door itself. I imagine this would never be a problem if you installed the sensor portion on the door frame, which if you can, I’d recommend. If its on the door try to make sure that the cover does not slide downwards in the installed location.

TIP: keep in mind the angle configurations you’re working with. You have two pieces, the sensor and the magnet. They have to face each other to activate the sensor in the closed position. If you have the sensor on the door and there is no room on the doorjamb to place the magnet in alignment with sensor, you will have to chisel out a chunk of the jamb (had to do this on one door). The door is obviously flat and one piece will be attached to the door. There needs to be a flat spot opposite the sensor to attach the magnet to. Look at your doors and figure out your angles to see if these are a good fit.

SOUNDS: A lot of comments on the sounds almost convinced me to steer away. Its is slightly hilarious and ridiculous clicking through the doorbell sounds. Some are very long. Having options like Fur Elise and Ragtime is just hilarious. Imagine hearing a MIDI big band song for 20 seconds every time the door is opened (lol). That said, there are a solid 5-7 very normal and simple chimes, you just have to scroll through and find them and that’s an entertaining time I assure you. These full-on songs are so unnecessary and hilarious.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES: The nice bit is that you can use different chimes for different doors, so when the door opens you know which door opened even though it won’t be a voice that says “Front Door…. open” like some integrated systems do.

Works as you’d expect. It can connect to multiple magnets. Can change the noise and volume Control. Good little extra security buff.

What I didn’t like is that it did not give you a disclaimer that the transceivers would not mount very well all areas were you have uneven molding. I’m in the process now of having to make some platforms for the transceivers to mount on evenly. Again I think this should have been mentioned in the description before someone purchased it. But what I do like the receivers a compact and fairly easy to program each transceiver can be program separately for a different sound 4 different doors or Windows I think that’s good and there are plenty of tolls to distinguish the difference.

Not sure what I did wrong but have different results in different areas. Product itself great! Absolutely love the sounds , love the fact that the sound piece can be located anywhere you like ( in your bedroom , while the sensor is on the front door) very loud , great choice of different sounds ( door bell, alarm ) . The one on my front door stayed perfect ! But two that I placed on the balcony and French window door fell off … maybe because the surfaces were different , that’s why gave it 4 stars , but truly definitely recommend as my front door sensor is perfect few months later …

Had purchased item to alert our family members that one of the exterior doors of the house have been opened. It was intended to alert us when my ill father would attempt to leave. Most recetly, one of the sensors stopped working. It shows its activating, but no notification. I have had this item installed for 2 months and already isn’t working. Very disappointed and there is no support , nor return available. So its a buyer beware. Keep that in mind when you decide to purchase this item.

I was kinda skeptical when I ordered these about the quality. Couldn’t have been more wrong. These work perfectly. Easy to install. And a great quality. Just what I needed.

We bought this months ago to help us keep track of my son trying to exit the back sliding door (he’s autistic) and we have a pool outback. We have many measures including obvious 24/7 parental supervision. These worked great for a month! The chime isn’t annoying, and you can change the volume of it. We WERE pleased. But then one of the sliders stopped working we said well maybe that was a dud. So we used our spare. That one went out a few weeks later… so now we have this hunk of crap product that doesn’t work for more than a month. We don’t open the door nearly as much as a business that has customers coming in and out all day so there should be no reason this already died and doesn’t work. And it’s not cheap either. Very upset and would not recommend this product.

We set up four doors in minutes, with four separate sounds, and two separate chimes. We had no issues at all getting things running.
