This product is fast, seems to work really nicely, and seems like decent value for the price paid. I love that it is USB C which is clearly where these kind of products need to be. It is nice not to have to worry about some adapter working, and since all my products are Apple, I don’t really want or need USB A.
It formatted just fine, data transfer seem reliable thus far, so far impressed.
But now the downsides. I don’t know why they went to all this effort to do a gradient plastic color. Seems like a waste of time and effort, because it doesn’t look good. One color would have been fine.
The mechanism that advances and retracts the USB C plug feels cheap and poorly executed. Which is also a reasonable description for the overall cheap flimsy plastic feel.
So in conclusion it is a great product, encased in a cheap, ugly, plastic case. If they could address that, I think this would be an automatic five stars.
