This yellow wax is amazing. I’ve used it on a few trucks I’ve restored over the years. I do a buff & polish, and then a nice even coat of Meguiars, and makes the paint look & feel like glass. Follow directions, and it’s an easy application with amazing results. Good luck & motor on!

So, I have mixed feelings about this product. However, before I continue let me note that I did in fact give the product 5 stars. I probably just saved myself from a storm of angry responses.
Quite frankly, this is a great wax. It looks pretty good, and it is extremely easy to remove. I’ve read some reviews where they stated that #26 was a bit difficult to get off. I have no idea what they’re talking about, maybe it was their first time waxing because it was a joke. When it starts hazing, two motions of a microfiber with firm pressure is pretty much all it takes. For people who haven’t ever used paste wax, I’d say this is a great place to start because the results are good and it’s a breeze to use.
Now for the downside…if you can call it that. Quite frankly, it’s not really any different than any other wax on the market. I’ve been using turtle wax for a while now (just because the damn jar lasts forever), and I’ve constantly heard that Turtle wax pales in comparison to products from Mother’s and Meguiar’s. In fact, I’ve had many people tell me that turtle wax doesn’t even come close to Meguiar’s waxes, and that #26 is the best of the best. I kept hearing about how it would instantly give you a “showroom shine” and a “deep wet look” that no other wax could match. Googling #26 yields tons of threads where people go on and on about how great #26 is. Soo needless to say I went in with very very high expectations…
Unfortunately, it doesn’t really look any better than any other wax I’ve used. I can’t speak for the longevity of the wax because I applied it fairly recently, but I imagine most people who wax regularly don’t care about that anyway. I even waxed one of the panels using my 3 year old jar of turtle wax to see how much better Meguiar’s was. I couldn’t notice any difference. I had one of my friend’s check it out, and he couldn’t tell me which panel had been waxed with the turtle wax either. That’s not to say that my car looked bad, it looked stunning! My real gripe was that it would have looked equally stunning if I had just used my ancient jar of turtle wax that is looked down upon by most professional detailers. I would have thought that using “the best wax” would yield results that were markedly different!!
While I would certainly say that Meguiar’s is an improvement over turtle wax due to ease of application and equally reasonable price, I do not recommend it if you already have a wax product at home. If you don’t have any wax at all, sure get Meguiar’s #26. Otherwise, just stick with whatever you’re using because you really won’t notice any difference.

I’m not one to review many items but Hi Tech 26 deserves it. This wax was recommended on a high end auto site for dark vehicles. It was explained to me that green waxes are for light colored vehicles. I just thought wax was wax. Well not so. The wax went on easy enough but as mentioned in another review depending on the amount used, it doesn’t come off that easy. This is not a big deal. It’s just worth pointing out. So I used a Meguiars micro fiber cloth to remove the wax, rubbing in straight lines in the direction of the body panels (a detailer’s secret) as rubbing in circles is a no-no. Having polished the car in my garage per the directions, I thought ‘hey this looks pretty good.’ I figured for the money it wasn’t a bad deal. It wasn’t until the next day after I came out an office I was visiting and I saw the car in the sunlight that I got the full effect. It was unbelievable. This was the first time I waxed my new black CR-Z and the car looked better than when I bought it. The finish was so reflective and pure that I could have shaved in the reflection. It made the metal flake in the paint pop and sparkle. It even took out the swirl marks the dealership put on it while prepping it during the sale. Seriously, this wax is no joke. With the exception of some $90 detailing wax, it cannot be beat. I highly recommend this wax along with the entire line of Meguiars products. I used the car wash, drying towels, etc to incredible effect. If you have a dark car and you want a finish worthy of envy, this is the wax to use. If I were to have any issue with this wax, it would be the amount required. In my estimation, you can only get two uses per bottle which isn’t terrible. If I had known how great this wax is, I would have purchased a few bottles to save on shipping because I already need to order more. If you have a dark colored car, order this wax! You will not regret it.

This stuff is fantastic! I’m an Autoglym fan so this was not a usual buy. But such a brilliant product. Easy to use and amazing results (even on a silver car). Highly recommended

All meguiar’s professional products are excellent, and used by most of the professional car detailers in my area. Problem is that AMAZON over charges up to 35% more for meguiar’s products than any other retailer. I now purchase all my meguiar’s professional detailing products from other reputable retailers.

I’ve tried many a car wax in the past, from one pound tins up to the expensive Autoglym one.
The best I’d tried yet was the Autoglym one, but that’s a small pot for your money. This seems to provide exactly the same finish, but for far less money.
Mine wasn’t the same packaging as shown, but came in a flat tin with a plastic cover housing the applicator pad (a neat round bit of soft foam). After an initial polish, this still glides on the bodywork – you certainly don’t need too much. As it’s a fairly hard wax you need to rub the pad on it to load it up but not too hard by any means.
I only needed to leave it for 5 minutes, and it dried in an almost clear haze. Wiping off with one cloth then buffing up with a microfiber left a stupendous glaze that was easily identifiable from paintwork without it. As you don’t need much there wasn’t too much dust that you can get with some waxes.
Dirt seems to slide off the paintwork much more readily. Doesn’t leave a colour cast on the white roof of my now gleaming red Mini. This may not be cheap but I suspect it will last a long time as my first use barley made a mark on the contents.

While either the original formula has been reworked, or the Professional Yellow 26 I used to get was a different product by Meguiar’s? However, it still applies the same, and still has that super slick finish, and deep shine I expected from this wax. The original formulation lasted well over six months, with water beading even after repeated washes, with wax safe carwash from none other than Meguiar’s. Hope this can endure the same amount of time. I have had a long history wih thier professional products from auto paint and restoration, to the marine industry. Thier boat wax is unbeatable, keeps the gelcoat deep, and rich protecting it from the sun. Yellow 26 also works great on gelcoat to protect from the harmful sun.
