I’m editing this to answer the reviewer who’s complaining that it has no aerator…if it has no aerator, get one from Kohler. It comes with an aerator installed in the spout and even a tool to help with changing it. Do you have the tool that came with it? If so, what did you think that was for if you don’t have an aerator?

    Original review:
We bought into a high-end condo in Chicago that trumpeted its Grohe, Franke, Toto, and so forth fixtures, but after just 15 years, the Franke faucet developed a crack so we chose this Kohler faucet that is fantastic. First, it’s quiet. What? A quiet kitchen sink faucet? Yep. The water flows in a neat stream that at first led me to believe I wasn’t getting the power of the previous one, but in fact, I was. It’s also amazingly easy to adjust the temperature. The old one was a constant back and forth to get lukewarm. Not this Kohler…it’s handle is easy to place just where you like. The arc of the faucet is nice and high to fill floral vases and the spray feature is easy to press on and off without any sticking. The installation took less than a half hour and without any problems. I wish we would have had to do this much sooner and I’d choose it again and again. And no more: “You know I can’t hear you when the water’s running!” Thank you Kohler!

Super cheap look and feel. Handheld part would not sit securely in base

We’ve had this faucet for a few years now and have grown to hate it! As others have mentioned, the buttons to toggle between spray and stream stick and no longer work. (To Kohler’s credit, they’ve replaced the head a number of times for this reason). The horizontal section is too short and unless the head is pulled out and held low in the sink – in either setting – water splashes excessively on the counter around the sink. The spray feature doesn’t work unless the flow is wide open – if not, it defaults to stream. The faucet looks good and the concept is terrific – the design and execution, however, leave MUCH to be desired. Kohler is a fine brand but this is not one of their better efforts. We’d suggest considering other products.

Just had the faucet installed and it looks really nice. Like the smooth water flow and the ability to switch between that and spray mode. I would have given it 5 stars but two small things stopped me. The first is the splashing issue when in smooth flow mode, you need to remember to cut back on the water flow when washing. The second is the fact that when you engage the spray mode it does not stay, it automatically switches back to flow mode, so if you stop spraying for a short period you have to reset the button to engage the spray function again.

I have read that it is difficult to keep this finish clean and was debating between this and the satin finish. Only time will tell, but in the meantime I do like the look of the fixture.

    Update July 3rd, 2013
After 15 months faucet hose leaked. (Deducted another star) Noticed that the hose which allows the head to pull out sprung a leak about 2 inches from the conection to the head and caused water damage to my cabinet. Called the kohler service center and they sent out the part through fedex overnight so I could fix the hose quickly. I am not sure if the hose was faulty or if there is a design flaw in the housing. I noticed that there is a sharp edge where the head connects to the faucet which may have caused wear on the hose over the past year, only time will tell. If you don’t need the pull out feature I would suggest you avoid it and get a faucet without the added hose and potential for leaks.

Bought this via warehouse deals. KOHLER is well known to be a reputable manufacturer of faucets and extremely pricey. The same thing costs at least 5 times more than what I paid for here. Took a chances the status of this item was ‘As New’ – Actually, there were several tiny kinks on the exterior of the faucet which is noticeable if you looked closely. Otherwise, it works perfectly fine and the pull out function is totally convenient for use in the kitchen. I like this faucet because it has a proper handle for using the pull out, and the Purist design is just so modern and zen, like my home!

5 star quality and worth every dollar. Hundreds of dollars cheaper online then in local plumbing shop and very easy to install. A +

Redoing our kitchen, and with new counters we wanted to reduce the number of items making holes in the new countertop. We had another expensive faucet, but the spout, handle and sprayer each had their own hole. We picked this one because all were combined, resulting in less clutter. The valve on this faucet is marvelous – smooth and easy to use. The spout comes off easily, and with a button push you can change the water from stream to spray. It works well, the spout slides back into the housing easily. We purchased the brushed stainless style, and the finish is fine. My only complaint is with the attaching hoses, which are unique and part of the faucet. If the valves under your sink are too far away for these to reach (they are pretty long, so will probably not be a problem) you’ll have to play games to extend them.
I hooked it up myself, and it was rather easy. I like the screws underneath for tightening, rather than just use a threaded nut – they keep the faucet nice and tight against the counter. The spray hose was a snap/click attachment which worked well, and it came with a weight for the hose to help pull it back when putting the sprayer back into the body.
Everything is well made. We have very hard water, so time will tell if the finish holds up.

This is a beautiful faucet and it works well, good height, good length. Very easy to install and turn up too. It’s amazing how smoothly the valve functions. The non-spray output is non-aerated and a slim clear stream, very elegant. The spray is not too tight, not too broad. For our water pressure, we have to knock the flow back a bit or the spray ricochets off stuff in the sink and gets all over – a small problem to have.

We’ve had in another house the 90 degree spray head like this one – it’s a really good feature that’s easy to overlook if you’re not aware of it.
