I recently installed the Devo G5 Smart Door Lock on my front door, and it has been a significant upgrade to my home security system. The 5-in-1 keyless entry feature is incredibly convenient, combining a doorbell, built-in Wi-Fi, app remote control, and auto-lock functionality. The fact that it doesn’t require a hub is a major plus, making the installation process straightforward.
The smart lock is well-built and feels durable, with an IP54 waterproof rating ensuring it withstands various weather conditions. The auto-lock feature works seamlessly, providing peace of mind that the door is always secure. The BHMA Grade 3 certification adds an extra layer of trust in its security capabilities.
However, I did encounter some connectivity issues with the built-in Wi-Fi. Occasionally, the lock would disconnect from the app, requiring a reset to restore functionality. While it’s not a dealbreaker, it can be a bit frustrating when trying to manage the lock remotely.
Overall, the Devo G5 Smart Door Lock is a reliable and convenient addition to any home. Despite the occasional connectivity hiccups, it offers excellent security features and ease of use. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a smart, keyless entry solution.

I have a lot of non and app connected keyless locks on various properties.
Easy install on this, configuring the app was quick. Volume, touch pad responsive, i tested everything but voice without a hitch. Really sharp lock with a lot of options.
Couple of things about this unit.
1) covered key lock, i’m in Florida rains are tremendous, this one is on a covered entry so should do ok. Consider that if you have a weather exposed door. It’s also IP54, i suggest you read up on ip water ratings.
2) heavy gasket between keypad and door.
3) 8 , yes 8 AA batteries, the price to pay for wifi which i need at this location. Battery health is monitored in the app and adjustable with sleep periods for wifi.
4) keeps a log and has temporary passwords.
5) auto lock on/off/time is all configurable.
6) has a manual key fall back. Good at a seniors place too due to that as mine will forget how to work a simple keyless and forget about using an app. If they loose the key i can still get in.
7) wifi not required, i have spotty wifi at this location at times, all the functions work including programming without wifi.
8) one review mentions spotty loosing wifi, this could be due to it having a dormant setting (typically night time) that snoozes the wifi (see my pictures). it’s configurable. I have this at a very weak wifi location, cams give me problems but this has surprisingly been very stable!
#1 key to success and ensuring a long life with these is:
1) make sure your dead bolt works smoothly…not kinda sorta, but smooth. These things are driven by small motors if they’re having to constantly work through a jam they will have a short life. If you think you’ll be using one of these with an out of adjustment dead bolt receiver, loose hinges and everything mis aligned think again. However these are easy to resolve, bamboo skewers are great and filling wood holes to re secure or redrill. Put some glue on them before insertion (super glue, wood glue doesn’t matter), then use a razor to trim them off and re-drill.
I do update my reviews as I discover new things and also on items with exceptionally short or long life so consider the age of the review when judging longevity. If it’s been a long time with no update you know I was satisfied.
Update #1,: still like this lock, working flawlessly the last month. Couple of minor additions. Key touch pad requires firmer press than some capacitive i’ve used (i think it’s capacitive) no big deal my other lock requires a light touch i just have to press slightly more on this one. wifi uses more battery of course than a non smart, i’d suggest some rechargeables but from initial estimate you’ll get a good number of months out of them.

This lock is great, I have yet to find anything I don’t like about it. The lock works consistently and appropriately. You can unlock and lock your home from your phone on the app, get temporary codes for people, program your own codes, NFC tags for tap-to-open, a key slot hidden behind the cover, and auto lock function. You can program it to work for a left- or right-handed swing door, by switching the way you install the locking pin through the bolt turning mechanism, as well as changing the rotation of the lock for each orientation. It’s easy to program once you read the instructions and figure it out. Learning it from scratch is not intuitive so use the instruction manual. The installation is a little bit odd too because it doesn’t go together like a normal lock, there’s a backing plate that you use to mount the outside part, and then you screw the inside part onto that plate. That part was intuitive enough for me that I didn’t need instructions on the installation, just programming and changing settings. However, it was tough enough I’m sure it’s not blatantly intuitive for everyone, make sure you get the plate the right direction too, facing the door with the indentations on the screw flanges indented toward the door. So that the screw in threads are closer to the door rather than away.
This lock has always worked, for about a month now I have yet to have it not work. Consistently 100/100 always works. It has a USB-C charger incase the battery dies you can access it from the outside, and you can always use the physical key if all else fails. There’s a small symbol for bell, if someone sees it they could potentially know to ring it, but it’s not super obvious that it would be your doorbell if someone wasn’t familiar. On top of that it’s pretty quiet. It would be perfect for a small house or apartment where you don’t want to disturb dogs and or sleeping baby’s you could have a small sign saying to press the lock’s doorbell rather than knocking loudly. Otherwise in a large house the bell wouldn’t be sufficient to summon the homeowner who’s not nearby or expecting company. So it doesn’t totally replace a doorbell but it’s a nice function no doubt. You might be able to make it louder through the settings, however I doubt this thing has a sufficient speaker to make it that much louder to penetrate a large house, just make it more noticeable in the immediate rooms and entry way.
I really like this lock. I have absolutely nothing bad to say. It’s functional, stylish, modern, accessibility is off the charts with temporary codes, and the ability to see if it’s locked; unlock and locking it remotely too.
It gives you notifications out loud when it locks and unlocks, the interior has a button as well as the normal lock knob so you can do it manually or automatically at the push of a button. It audibly tells you if it’s unlocking or locking, or if it gets caught and jammed in the doorframe and doesn’t slip into its divot fully locking it will alarm you that it failed its function and needs to be adjusted and relocked.
Fantastic product and it uses the same app as my other lock so it’s super handy!
Fully suggest getting this.
