This is a great little polisher, is orbital style so no risk of burning or swirl marks on the paint, is battery operated, no mess with wires, battery life is really good, and use makita compatible batteries, include all the accessories you might need, it has variable speed but is not continuous but a switch in steps of 1000 rpm’s, the speed remains constant during all the polishing, it didn’t present the sudden changes in speed noticed on other cheap polishers.

My previous sander/buffer was bulky and a chore to use. I was happy to try a new one. I decided to try this Makihara brand.
This cordless 5 Inch Random Orbital Car Polisher Waxer, has 6 Variable Speeds. It operates at 1000-5200 RPMs. It’s powered by 21V 3.0Ah Batteries, for about 6-7 hrs of continuous use. It comes with 27Pcs great for polishing, waxing, sanding, or scratch removing.
I used it on my deck, the ergonomic design made it easy to work with for extended periods of time. It’s lightweight and made from durable materials. The batteries charge quickly, and holds a charge for about 3-4 hrs each.

This polisher is a few steps above other off-brand polishers available online. It’s not a professional-level detailer’s tool, but it’s pretty darn close. This is a great value at less than a 1/3 the cost of the name brand counterparts. This polisher is powerful and smooth, with 3Ah batteries that drive the brushless motor easily at any of the selectable speeds.
I like the heavier, high-quality feel, but with these larger batteries, some may find the extra weight less appealing. The kit included everything except some good-quality rubbing and polishing compounds, so make sure you get some before starting. I was able to cut and polish out some medium scratch marks on my wife’s truck, to her satisfaction.
This random orbital polisher is compatible with the other similar big-name manufacturer (with a similar name) batteries if you already have them and need them for a larger job. However, the included batteries are not compatible with other major manufacturers’ tools. The included pads are a good starting point, but if you plan to maintain multiple vehicles, you may want to invest in some additional, higher-quality 5″ pads.
This is going to be my go-to polisher for all upcoming automotive paint correction and waxing jobs.
