Perfect for little ones, seems to hold up well. My only problem is if it gets dropped the batteries get tossed out of place because of the design of the battery slot. That could be so much better designed.

My grandsons love it. Keeps them busy. Indestructible very solid build. Great quality.

I got two— one for my kids and one for my nephew. I figured the wood would be sturdy and even if the batteries run out the kids would still enjoy flipping the switches without the lights.
The box says ages 3+ due to choking hazard but I don’t see anything that is an obvious choking hazard. My 1yo and my 3yo love it. The 1yo has been carrying it around nonstop. But it slid off the table once and landed face down (a 3 foot drop) and stopped working. Once I tapped it hard on my hand (face up) it started working again, which made me think either the batteries can knock out of place easily or perhaps some other inner mechanism can. Either way, a toy for toddlers should be a little more drop proof. This has happened more than once so far where I have to “fix” it for the kids because it got dropped or bumped too hard and I basically have to tap the back of it a few times for it to work again. Maybe I’ll try putting a little something in the battery compartment to ensure it’s not the batteries bumping out of place. Annoying, but for the price it’s still quite entertaining for the littles.

This wooden busy-board is a fun addition to any child’s toy collection. It stimulates active hand-eye coordination as well as motor-function development.

As a dad who likes to get stimulating toys for his children, I was looking for something different that could be both fun and educational. This seems to fit the bill.

    Pros:

The many buttons, knobs and switches have multiple strength ratings enabling your child to develop strategies for how to turn them off/on. Some buttons (momentary on/off) are relatively easy to manipulate while others (hat switches, rocker switches) require more dexterity in the fingers to move.

The bright colors and differences in switches allow the child to see the outcome of actions. “Turn on this switch, a bright red color comes on. Twist this knob, and the yellow color becomes brighter.”

It is intriguing and makes you feel good as a parent when your child connects the input/output of their actions.

    Cons:

There is one connection which is a small length of wire with a connector that has to be plugged into a slot to turn the light on. While certainly not long enough for a child to wrap around their neck, they may become interested to see what it tastes like. Ensure you, as a parent, are not allowing this behavior and redirect them to the other switches, buttons, etc.

The battery box has a void which will allow the batteries (2 AAA batteries) to become dislodged if the board is dropped or thrown. As a resourceful dad, I made a wedge out of a piece of plastic that keeps tension on the batteries under their cover, to prevent them from being dislodged. A simple fix, but if you are not aware of this, you may think it is defective.

Other than these 2 cons, the toy is very useful, worth the money, and adds value to playtime with your child.

I didn’t expect my son to like this much, but since he always enjoyed playing with our light switches and other household buttons I thought id give it a try. He has been on this on and off for hours! He is usually not so interested in one toy for long. Excuse the blurry photos, camera lens was gross.

A nice tactile toy with no annoying sounds but there are a couple of small things that could be fixed. First, the dimmer knob with the yellow light pulls right off and poses a choking hazard. If this could be properly adhered then I’d say this toy would be appropriate for toddlers as well. Second, the battery compartment has empty space so that when the toy is dropped from almost any height, the batteries become dislodged. I fixed this by gluing a small piece of wood to the inside of the battery cover.

I have a foster nephew that is on the spectrum, he is a very smart 2 year old, upon receiving this gift on Christmas morning he was immediately enthralled by it. We tried to engage him with other gifts, , , , we just had to wait!!! This is another exceptional product, it’s well built and affordable priced! I highly recommend this!!!

Love the concept but the electronics don’t seem very reliable. After only 3 days one of the green light switches failed.

Both my kids LOVE this thing! I have a 1 year old that loves pressing the noise button and my 3 year old likes to pretend it’s her control board for a spaceship or plane or whatever. This thing has been thrown around and stepped on and yeah put through the wringer and the only damage it has sustained is the small key is now slightly bent. Everything still works and it’s the perfect size. I also love that it’s made out of wood and not some large plastic hunk of junk. I almost wish I had gotten 2 because the kids are usually fighting over it haha! I would definitely recommend!

We originally got one of these for my husbands coworkers son for his birthday (4yrs old). We got it for our son(2yr old birthday) on his birthday as it seemed to really make him happy. Only issue is my son likes to throw things. It survived a good 20 to 30 throws but eventually the battery compartment broke and slid into the box. I would dub that normal wear and tear for a kid like him. Even with it broken, he’s still able to flick the switchs and read the abcs on the back, so it still has a use, it just doesn’t light up anymore. I would still dub it a good toy thats worth the money.

Bought this for my 16 month old granddaughter. She loves the switches and lights. Great for travel! No loose pieces for on the plane. Parent approved toy!

This was a toy I bought for my one year old grandson. He liked watching the lights, but as expected the switches were a little too hard for him. I bought it so he could learn to work the buttons and still watch the lights. It is also great for “cause and effect.” However, after 3 months it would not work. I switched batteries, no luck. Cleaned out the battery compartment. No luck. Then I read the reviews about someone who hit it on their hand. I tried it out of desperation and it worked! Who knows how long it will work now. If we turn it off when finished and store it gently, maybe we will have it for a while.

My little really enjoys this product! Worth the money. Some of the buttons are a little hard for him to move, but otherwise definitely recommend this product if you have a curious busy bee! Keeps them entertained.
