This is such a great dash cam!

Installation was a breeze. It was obvious which cords went where, and the setup was incredibly fast. One feature I love is that the suction cup for mounting the front camera is a twist-lock, making it very easy to mount or detach the camera.
The front and back cameras are connected by a cord that could easily accommodate a large vehicle. It might seem like overkill in a passenger car, but if I were driving a 3-row or 4-row passenger van, I would be thankful for the extra length that easily reaches from the front windshield to the back. To keep the cord out of the way, I hung it from the roof of the car with cable management clips, but tape or other methods of securing the cord would work just as well.

Another bonus is that the adapter plug has a USB plug built into it. I can charge my phone while using the dash cam.

For the most part, it is designed to work right out of the box. You can install it without tweaking any settings, and it will just work. Adjusting the settings is a bit complicated (which is a good thing, as kids won’t easily mess it up by pressing random buttons). Most of the settings are accessible through the WitCam app, which you’ll need to install on your mobile phone.

The WitCam app is where the real magic happens! Once the camera is connected, it will download GPS data and imprint the recorded video with your speed, GPS location, and lots of other interesting information. When you remove the SD card and read it on your computer, there’s a program included on the SD card to install the WitCam software on your desktop as well. The WitCam app is the perfect tool for browsing all the videos recorded by the dash cam, as it can display all this extra information and even show a Google Map of where the video was recorded.

With the amount of information recorded by this camera, you could probably use the videos to negotiate lower insurance rates if you feel inclined to share them.

Both cameras function beautifully at night! The resolution is spectacular, with the back camera locked at 1080p resolution. The options I saw were 4K+1080p, 2K+1080p, and 1080p+1080p. Since the smallest option is still in the high-def range, no matter which you choose, you’re going to get excellent resolution. I did a frame-by-frame analysis of the video to see how much motion blur affects the footage, and it turns out it hardly affects it at all. Even when the vehicle is in motion, license plates, road signs, and bumper stickers are all clearly readable during playback.

You know how when you have sunglasses on, you have to take them off to see the McDonald’s order board because it’s polarized? I had a dash cam once that was polarized, and I couldn’t see the screen with my glasses on. However, this dash cam is easy to view even if you have sunglasses on! The screen isn’t polarized, so you should be able to see it clearly.

The sound quality is excellent! Other cams can get overwhelmed if you have the A/C on full blast and will record the A/C as white noise, but this camera has enough mics that it doesn’t get overwhelmed during a hot summer day by A/C background noise.

This camera is great! Much better than i expected for the money. The camera was easy to install and had multiple plug in options. I got the extra hard wire adapter to tap into 24hour surveillance.

The 4k camera quality is great in the front and thw back camera is lesser quality but still very clear.

I was able to connect my phone app to the camera easily and i really like all the features. I like that you can choose split screen and see front and back, i like that you can leave monitor on or turn it off ehile its recording, easily download videos and pictures to your phone, and i like that i can set it up to record 24 hours. (I bought the hardwore kit and bigger memory card, which was well worth it.

The manual is easy to understand, the FAQs are comprehensive, and the quality of the product overall is 5 stars. Highly recommend it.

Frequent Amazon customer, rare Amazon reviewer. But this product is worthy of a review. If you read the reviews already posted, you have a good sense of the pros and cons of this unit. Try to resist the temptation of all the bells and whistles of higher-priced units. Focus on what features you need and will actually use.
First and foremost, I wanted a reliable recorder that was straightforward to install and that had decent image. Check.
    Second, I wanted a back-facing camera. Check.
Third, I wanted an easy way to interrogate the videos. Check (the phone app).

The value-for-money with this unit is excellent.
Some cons, though: 1) the screen is small. You won’t be looking at it very much, but when backing up I hoped I could use it to spot people/cars/animals etc. behind me that mirrors don’t show. The quality of the screen is okay for that but the lighting in my car almost always poses a “glare challenge” (too hard to see the screen in strong light; works fine at night); 2) the instructions could be improved; and 3) I would make “WiFi” the FIRST Settings option, it’s the only setting you access often.

Some pros: 1) I discovered how easy it is to snake cables throughout my car (…who knew?); 2) most design features are well thought out and intuitive; 3) I was skeptical that I “needed” a 4K camera up front, but you *do* want that level of detail with the wide-angle lens used by all dash cams; 4) if you have worked much with microcontrollers, then you will be impressed with the multi-tasking this unit can perform (very stable code); and 5) the unit is tiny and I appreciate that it does not interfere with my forward visual field.
