    [Update after extensive use:
Going to 5 stars now. Have now also had more experience with its microphone. For voice quality during a phone call, the built-in mic is acceptable but far from great.

There have been a couple of hiccups, when it wouldn’t pair with the phone. The solution was to power off the device, unplug the headset, power the device back on, reattach the headset, and pair again. It has always worked the second time around.
    End of update]

One star less than “outstanding” for now because it’s brand-new. Will increase rating if no defects encountered.

I got this after getting a mobile phone without a dedicated headphone jack. I wanted to avoid using a USB-C-to-3.5mm dongle. My previous phone’s charging port wore out with overuse. So the less I use the port, the better.

I really didn’t want to have to spend another $50–$100 on Bluetooth headphones.

    Pairing

Worked perfectly the first time, and quickly. After initial pairing, it seems to require only turning on the mobile phone’s Bluetooth and then powering on the Bluetooth adapter—pairing is immediate and without further steps.

The device reports its percentage of remaining battery charge to the Bluetooth screen of the mobile device (at least when connected to a Google pixel phone).

    Sound quality

My wired headphones aren’t audiophile quality but are ok for my purposes. I expected inferior audio quality when using the Bluetooth adapter.

But I’m pleasantly surprised—I don’t notice any loss of quality during music playback.

Once in a while video and audio don’t quite synchronize but this eventually corrects itself.

    Build quality

It’s a small and probably delicate device, but it seems well made—the switches and buttons seem solid.

    Play/pause & Skip/Back

I expected the play/pause button to control only music playback, but it pauses and plays both sound AND video (at least on YouTube).

When I’m viewing a YouTube playlist, the Skip control immediately goes to the next video in the list, and the Back control goes to the previous video. That was unexpected.

    Microphone

My headset’s boom mic is disabled when the Bluetooth device is used. I didn’t expect much from the adapter’s built-in microphone but was surprised that I can at least use it for voice-to-text dictation.

As a test, I covered the mic with my thumb. Even with the mic covered, it picked up my voice perfectly. This might not be desirable in all situations. I don’t think there is a “mute” command for the mic.

    Charging

Out of the box, it needed only about 20 minutes to come to full charge. I don’t know yet how long it will take when the battery is depleted.

    Documentation

They’ve done a good job with the instructions. The booklet has the usual tiny type, but the text is organized well enough and is clear. Kudos for that.

    Works great with Iphone14.
To prevent 1Mii internal battery from discharge, 1Mii should automatically switch off when the device it is connected to is out of range for longer than 5 minutes.
Otherwise, one month of use, very good and hopefully keeps going.

I bought this to use with my wired Sennheiser headphones, in order to pair with my smart TV, and it’s amazing! It DOES have a place to plug in. It is not just for your car. Instead of buying Bluetooth headphones, which weigh a lot, and frankly.. good luck comparing them with pro headphones, I did the research, got a lot of VERY helpful answers, and some completely incorrect answers ( but appreciate people taking their time to help), and essentially.. spent $14.44 to be able to use my far more expensive headphones ( I am an Event DJ, I run a very successful company), to pair with my phone, or my TV, and I’m thrilled about it. The product is fantastic. You could not expect more for this price. It doesn’t last 65 hours like Bluetooth headphones would, but you can charge it while you use it..if necessary. Lasts about 15 hours, but easy to charge, and not an issue. If you want to be completely hands free, then it’s not your best option ( as you will have the wire from your headphones..and this device.) However, it’s SO small, you can put it in your pocket, and run around the house doing things, because it extends 70 feet away from your phone or TV! I originally bought it, because I am working with meditation practices, and needed headphones for binaural beats. Whether you are familiar with that, or just want to watch TV , while people are asleep, and you also have nice headphones, that are wired.. and expensive.. and light weight…this is an excellent choice. Bluetooth headphones might be great, have longer battery life, pair more easily… etc, but they weight 10 lbs, lol, and they’ll never put the sound out of professional headphones ( With the exception of pro Bluetooth headphones , possibly). This device has incredible volume, clarity, convenience. I’d much rather figure out how to attach the wire, and the device to me, which is simple, and use this device VS buy Bluetooth headphones.. They can’t touch mine. ( Actually, I have numerous pairs, different price ranges, and size..all have the normal 3 mm male plug in, so I can use any of them.) For $14, you get everything you want. I already have a fantastic $15 car device, but now I have a backup for that too. Also it has everything you need to answer calls, skip tracks, change the volume, etc. However, a lot of that is just as easy on your device. This IS an extremely small unit, so up to the user. I almost sent it back, only because I thought it was doing what so many other devices do..( lose their charge, even while off. But, another helpful customer informed me that the blinking of red and blue, when fully charged , and set to on..was this device’s pairing mode. That is usually the case. Only issue is that with these cheaper Bluetooth headphones, even with great specs, it’s doing that because it’s lost it’s charge, while they are off.) So, I hope this helps someone else. Because, I went to great lengths to go through all the specs of the different headphone types, and devices, asked a lot of questions, got a lot of answers, and finally figured everything out about how this works . ultimately I read an article that recommended it as the best choice of any of these, written by someone with my first name.. However that conclusion was drawn went far beyond what I did in research. But, correct, in my opinion, and experience. You won’t find a better deal. The same probably goes , even if you have inexpensive wired earbuds.. and don’t want bulky headphones. Pairing can be a bit tricky with your Smart TV at first, and you may have to connect more frequently than you’d like. But, it takes a few seconds . If you’re spending $14 .. to have the use of your $80-$1000 headphones, instead of the really attractive, but in no way comparable Bluetooth headphones( being sold all over). So, my advice- take the time to reconnect.. not a big deal, at all. ( Also, I’ve tried numerous pairs of those headphones, and had to return, because they look and seem great, but are not..in so many ways further than what I’ve even mentioned.) Hope this helps someone else, because nothing like this was anywhere, when I thought of it, and started looking for the answers! I had not even thought of using my pro headphones, and looking for another way, because I was looking for something for meditative practices. Binaural beats.. you hear different tones in each ear, , which produce a third time.. stimulating different brain waves. That is actually something that can help you in all sorts of ways. But, I’m so glad I walked by my headphones.. and went ” hey genius, you will never find better headphones than yours, what are you doing? There has to be something that will connect them to your phone or TV , so that you can hear with perfect clarity.. as you do when you are using these. The interesting thing is.. an article I pulled up finally put this out there as the best in the market , for all types of uses. Every other review.. only talks about it being for your car. The answers I got back were tricky too. But, the silver plug in comes out, and you plug your headphones in. I’m the type of person that does the homework, before I continue to throw my money and time away. All the other reviews talk about the use for your car. But, I’d take what anyone says with an open mind, positive or negative. Because, if I had listened or taken every negative answer or review to heart, I’d still be dealing with far inferior headphones.. for far more money.
